Trace the spine of the Sorrentine Peninsula on a panoramic walk towards Punta Campanella, the myth-laden tip of land that seems to reach out and almost touch Capri. The trail winds between olive groves and vegetable gardens, with constant views of sea and Faraglioni rocks just across the water. After your hike, you settle into a hilltop farmhouse where the coastline spreads out below and a farm-to-table lunch arrives in unhurried courses – fresh pastas, seasonal vegetables and local cheeses. It’s a day that feels suspended between land, sea and sky.

You start the day with your private driver collecting you from your accommodation and taking you out along the Sorrentine Peninsula, where the land stretches towards Capri. At the trailhead near Termini, you meet your local hiking guide and set off towards Punta Campanella – the very tip of the peninsula, a place wrapped in ancient myths and sea legends.

The path is gentle and panoramic, with the sea on one side and olive groves and vegetable gardens on the other. As you walk, Capri feels almost within reach, its cliffs and Faraglioni rocks rising from the water just across the channel. Your guide brings the landscape to life with stories of Ulysses and the Sirens, old watchtowers and the Sanctuary of Minerva, while you follow the ridge towards the final point of land. There’s time to pause, breathe in the salty air, and take in the wide-open views before making your way back along the trail

After the hike, your driver takes you up into the green hills above Sorrento to  a peaceful farmhouse restaurant with sweeping views over the coastline. Here, you sit down to an unhurried, farm-to-table lunch where most of what’s on your plate has been grown or produced on the property – seasonal vegetables, homemade pastas, olive oil from the surrounding groves, perhaps a local meat or fresh cheese. There’s no need to choose from a long menu; dishes simply arrive, one after another, capturing the flavours of this corner of Campania.

When lunch draws to a close, your private driver returns you to your accommodation. You arrive back with the warmth of the sun still on your skin and the feeling of having spent the day suspended between sea and sky, walking out towards Capri and dining in the quiet hills above the coast.
